If a single game record is broken in the playoffs, does it count?

OK, take this scenario. You're in the 2010 postseason, a player breaks a single-game record such as most strikeouts in a game, most RBIs in a game, etc. Does that count in the record books? I know any home runs hit, or stats in general don't get tacked on to the season's stats nor are they officially on the books. But since its just a normal 9 inning game, would the record be "broken"?
