Are there any cheats for pokemon heartgold without action replay?

I have pokemon heartgold and I keep hearing of this thing called:'Action Replay.' I don't actually know what it is but i don't care anyway. Is there any cheats for rare candies or something without action replay? Because whatever it is I don't have it O__O
